About Us:
We are a warm and loving Christian family with an age range from toddlers to over 90. A community spirit is at the heart of all we do and over 1,000 children and adults cross our threshold each week to attend the many groups that meet on our premises. You are very welcome to join us.
Our Mission Statement:
We aim to be a worshipping, welcoming, caring Christian presence sharing the good news of Jesus within the Thackley community.
In fulfilling our mission we will:
- Carry everything to God in prayer;
- Worship God in a way that is relevant to the whole church family;
- Support and care for those in need in our local area and beyond;
- Encourage understanding between people of all cultures and faiths;
- Encourage links with other churches and community groups;
- Show the love, joy and peace of Jesus by supporting fairtrade and challenging and influencing other issues from a Christian perspective.
In support of this the Stewards and Church Council will:
- Look upon all who come as valued members of our church family where opinions may be expressed freely;
- Listen and respond to the needs of our community;
- Follow the guidelines and teachings of the Methodist Church;
- Manage efficiently the resources entrusted to them, including people, money and buildings;
- Challenge the church to increased commitment in worship and witness;
- Endeavour to make church relevant to the changing needs of our community;
- Be directed by the Holy Spirit in all of this.
